As a first-time dog owner, I’ve embarked on an exciting journey filled with both adventures and challenges. Meet Juno, my energetic 9-month-old Boston Terrier—my very first canine companion. While she’s brought immense joy into my life, she’s also proven to be quite the handful! Determined to navigate the ups and downs of puppy parenthood, I’ve chosen to share my experiences with you. Through these tales, I hope to stay motivated, inspired, and spread some joy to fellow dog lovers along the way.

So, I’ve always had a soft spot for our whiskered friends—yes, I’m proudly part of the ‘crazy cat lady’ club, as my daughter loves to remind me. But, hold your catnip, folks, because things took a furry turn!
Living the single-parent-apartment life with two cats, the thought of adding a doggo to the mix seemed like adding an extra scoop of chaos to an already purr-fectly balanced equation. Besides, my resident felines weren’t exactly rolling out the welcome mat for a puppy intruder.
But life has a funny way of nudging you towards unexpected paths. Last summer, we said goodbye to our senior cat, leaving our remaining furball feeling a bit lonely. Enter my daughter, armed with a persuasive PowerPoint presentation (seriously, who knew that could be a thing?).
After some convincing—okay, a lot of convincing—we dipped our toes into the world of dog ownership. My daughter, bless her soul, scoured the depths of the internet for all things canine, ultimately leading us to the adorable world of Boston Terriers.
Say goodbye to French Bulldogs and Frenchtons, and hello to the squish-faced charm of Boston Terriers—a breed that seemed to tick all the boxes without the extra baggage of health issues. With a newfound enthusiasm, we quickly found ourselves on the doorstep of a local breeder.
Now, this breeder was a gem—a first-timer himself, he showered us with all the puppy love, answering every query and even orchestrating playdates with the pups. One visit was all it took for us to become smitten, and faster than you can say ‘sit,’ we’d handed over our deposit, ready to embrace this tail-wagging adventure.
And that’s how this former cat person found herself swept up in the whirlwind world of puppy parenthood. Stay tuned as we navigate this new chapter, one paw print at a time!
